Growing Tips

Plant Hermine into a wide aquatic planting basket using heavy aquatic potting mix rather than regular garden soil. Position the crown so it sits just below the soil surface and gradually lower the basket until the plant is growing at a depth of 30–60 cm.

Feed regularly during the growing season with aquatic fertiliser tablets to encourage healthy foliage and continuous flowering. Remove spent flowers and ageing leaves to keep the plant looking its best and to promote new growth.

Although Hermine becomes dormant during winter, leave the rhizome in the pond. New leaves will emerge naturally as temperatures warm in spring.
