Why flow matters in a koi pond

Koi are large fish that produce a lot of waste. A strong, reliable flow through a well-sized filter keeps ammonia down and oxygen up, especially in summer when warm water holds less oxygen. Many koi keepers size their pump and filter generously so the system can cope as their fish grow.
