Pond Vacuums & Cleaning

Even the best-kept ponds collect sludge, leaves and debris. Our pond vacuums and cleaning tools make the job quicker and easier, without having to drain the pond.

What's in the range

• Oase PondoVac 4 – a powerful pond vacuum for removing sludge, leaves and debris from the bottom of the pond.
• Aqua One fish net with telescopic handle – for scooping leaves, debris and fish.
• Oase filter foam for PondoVac 3 and 4 – a replacement foam to keep your vacuum running well.

Why remove sludge?

Sludge is made of rotting leaves, fish waste and uneaten food. As it breaks down, it releases nutrients that feed algae and uses up oxygen that fish need. Removing it regularly keeps the water clearer and healthier.

Cleaning tips

• Clean little and often rather than doing one big clean, which can upset the balance of the pond.
• Spring and autumn are good times for a thorough clean.
• Pond sludge makes great compost for the garden.
• Add beneficial bacteria afterwards to help break down what's left.
