Fluval Plant & Shrimp Stratum

Fluval Plant & Shrimp Stratum is a substrate for growing healthy aquatic plants, and is safe for shrimp and fish.

It is a naturally mineral-rich volcanic soil from the Mount Aso volcano in Japan.

Its consistent grain size and porous structure provide minerals and nutrients that stimulate vigorous plant growth, along with a large surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise.

Stratum will not discolour your water, and helps control organic discolouration such as leaching from natural driftwood.

Its natural profile softens the water and produces a neutral to mildly acidic pH, which suits the growth of most aquatic plants.
