Flowering Pond Plants

Bring colour to your water garden with our flowering pond plants. From classic water lilies to tall irises and delicate native flowers, there's something to brighten every part of your pond through the warmer months.

Flowers for every part of the pond

On the water surface, hardy water lilies are the stars, with blooms in pink, red, white and yellow. Native Marshworts and Running Marsh Flower add smaller yellow flowers among their floating leaves.

Around the edges, try Water Iris, True Water Canna, Water Orchid and Goddess Lily for bold flowers, or Creeping Jenny, River Buttercup, Swamp Goodenia and Water Hyssop for softer colour that spills over the pond edge.

Getting the best flowers

Most flowering pond plants need plenty of sun, so give them the brightest spot you have. Feed them regularly through the growing season with a slow-release aquatic fertiliser, and remove spent flowers to encourage more.
