Brahmi Is known as the 'Memory Herb' for its potential cognitive and medicinal benefits. This Australian native pond plant is easy to grow and makes an excellent spreading plant. t will also mat out over the top of the pond and provide cover and shelter for fish and tadpoles.
Research has also shown that Brahmi has neuroprotective properties, meaning it helps protect the brain from damage caused by oxidative stress and inflammation. A study published in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics demonstrated that Brahmi extract reduced oxidative stress and increased antioxidant enzyme activity in the brains of rats. These findings suggest that Brahmi may have potential therapeutic applications in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
